AI‑Generated Images
To balance quality with performance, we sometimes cache (store) AI‑generated images and reuse it when the same description appears again.
How it works
Step | What we do | Why it matters |
1. Generate once | The first time a unique description—e.g. “A goblin leader with jagged scars and a battered helm”—appears, we create an image for it. | The image matches the description |
2. Check for close matches | Later, if another user in another campaign uses a very similar description, we might use the cached image instead of regenerating. | Faster load times and lower cost. |
3. New description ⇒ new art | Change the details (“glowing red eyes,” “wolf‑pelt cloak”) and we’ll create a brand‑new image. | Distinct descriptions still feel unique to every table. |
By caching images, we’re able to give you an image that matches the description of whatever has come up in your campaign as fast as possible. We also avoid generating the same image over and over, which helps us keep costs down.
Uploaded Images
If you upload an image, it does not get added to the cache and will not be reused across other campaigns.
