Both forms of combat are experimental and have a variety of known issues. We have upgrades coming, which should hopefully be finished sometime in January 2025.
You can run combat in Friends & Fables in one of two ways, narrative combat and turn based combat.
Narrative combat goes through the same systems that normal messages do. The downside to this is that enemies and their stats may not be tracked accurately.
Turn based combat is an experimental option that can be turned on in your campaign settings.
The downside to turn based combat is that the GM will lose a lot of narrative abilities / memory. Stat tracking will be much more accurate, though this system is still buggy.
We are aware and will be doing a complete rework of combat soon. Thank you for your understanding!
