Content Moderation

Content Visibility

On Friends & Fables, you can choose to mark your content as Private, Unlisted, or Public.

  • Private Content: Private content is visible only to the player who created it. We do not moderate private content.

  • Unlisted Content: Unlisted content is only visible to players who have the link. It is not published or shared on the Friends & Fables Discover page. We may moderate this content.

  • Public Content: Public content will be published to the Friends & Fables Discover page so it is visible and shared with everyone in the community. It must adhere to the Community Guidelines to ensure a positive experience for all users.

Content Guidelines for Public Content

Content should be in the Spirit of the Platform

Friends & Fables is a generative tabletop gaming experience, and as such, our users expect content that is in the spirit of TTRPG experiences.

This does NOT mean that mature themes are prohibited. For example, Game of Thrones or Baldur’s Gate are both fantasy experiences that contain mature themes such as violence and sex, but they are both in the spirit of their respective mediums. If your published world contains some content that has mature themes, that is okay, as long as that’s not the whole point of the content. If that’s the sort of thing you are after, you are free to do so in your own private campaigns, which are not moderated.

Prohibited Public Content

The following content is not allowed in any published content:

  1. Explicit Sexual Images: Any graphic sexual imagery or depictions of sexual acts in uploaded images.

  2. Hate Speech: Content that discriminates against or promotes hatred towards individuals or groups based on attributes such as race, ethnicity, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, religious affiliation, or disabilities.

  3. Extreme Violence: Graphic depictions of gore or extreme violence.

  4. Self-Harm: Content that glorifies or promotes self-harm or suicide.

Public Content Enforcement

Depending on the nature and severity of the violation, we may take the following actions:

  • Removing public content that violates the Community Guidelines.

  • Temporarily or permanently restricting a user's ability to publish content.

Users may appeal restrictions by contacting the support team at [email protected].

AI Chat Moderation

AI Chat moderation is something we cannot control fully, as some things are baked into the language models directly. Specific language models may refuse to engage in certain topics. This is, for the most part, out of our control and the type of content that is refused is specific to each model. It is mostly up to the language model to decide what it can / cannot say.

However, we do have a layer of automated moderation built in as well. While we try to allow for mature topics to be part of the game, we have automated systems to detect misuse. For example, we allow violence and sexual themes, but we use automated systems to refuse content that is sexual/includes minors.

Conclusion

These guidelines are designed to create a welcoming and creative environment for all Friends and Fables users. If you have any questions or need clarification, please contact our support team at [email protected].
